Your Questions, Answered

Do you handle my type of real estate situation? I don’t see it listed on your website.

Eva handles real estate transactions only. Transactions are sales, leases, and other negotiations like easements, road maintenance and co-ownership where all parties are getting along. If this describes your sitaution, please schedule a complimentary discovery call, and Eva will evaluate your needs, outline relevant options, and recommend the most efficient path forward. If instead, you are involved in a dispute with your tenant, landlord, neighbor, co-owner, lender, the local planning or building department, or the former/subsequent owner of your property, you need a different type of attorney. Please search for an attorney near you who does “evictions,” “foreclosure defense,” “failure to disclose,” “boundary disputes,” “land use,” or “real estate litigation,” as appropriate. You can also check with your local bar association or sites like SuperLawyers, Avvo, Justia and Lawyers.

Do I need an estate plan? Does my existing estate plan need updating?

Most people do need some level of estate planning. A very simple estate may only require a will and a transfer on death deed. Most people who own a home in California, however, need a trust. If your existing plan is more than ten years old, or if you have had significant life changes since your last estate plan (marriage, birth of a child, divorce or death of a spouse), you probably need an update. Sometimes, it’s more cost-effective to create a new estate plan than to amend your existing documents.

Can we do everything online? Can we meet in person?

Eva can work with you as you prefer, in person or remotely. Her office is located in El Dorado Hills. Previously, she maintained an office in Pleasant Hill and can meet former or referred clients there as needed.
